Film production companies receive over 17 million roubles for films shot in the Krasnodar Region

Alexander Ruppel, Deputy Governor of the Krasnodar Region, spoke about the regional support for film production.

«For the sixth consecutive year, the Krasnodar Region has operated an incentive scheme for film producers. We reimburse up to 30% of the costs incurred in producing feature films and TV series. Over 250 million roubles have already been allocated for this purpose, and 39 film companies have benefited from the support, producing more than 70 films. The scheme supports film companies, attracts producers to the region, and helps the Krasnodar Region to strengthen its presence on the big screen, showcasing its image as a welcoming and flourishing destination through cinema,» said Alexander Ruppel.

In 2026, 22 film companies submitted 26 applications, totalling 753.8 million roubles. Following the selection process, 17 film projects were chosen, and three participants have already received grants totalling 17.7 million roubles. The remaining companies will be able to receive payments without submitting a new application, in order of priority, subject to the availability of additional funding.

«Film production in the Krasnodar Region is both a cultural asset and a significant driver of economic growth. Filming creates demand for services provided by local businesses, creates jobs for local residents, and attracts external investment to the region, while also helping to promote the Krasnodar Region as a holiday and tourist destination,» said Yulia Prikhodko, Head of the Department of Business Development and Foreign Economic Activity.

Established in 2020, the Film Commission of the Krasnodar Region provides film crews with organisational and information support at every stage of film production. Every year, it holds 150–200 consultations for film producers. Each municipality has designated staff responsible for film-related matters, ensuring that issues are resolved promptly.
